Joining the biopharmaceutical industry in 2001 at Cephalon, Inc., Stacey was instrumental in identifying synergies between the company and the nonprofit community. There, she formalized the company’s patient advocacy function; developed strategies to mitigate risks facing the corporation’s pain management franchise; and developed patient-focused communication strategies to raise awareness of medical conditions and products.

Most recently, at BioMarin Pharmaceutical, Stacey built sustainable coalitions integrating the perspectives of rare disease advocates into government affairs initiatives related to access to care, especially in Medicaid. She also led internal, cross-functional collaborations to advance patient advocacy and developed strategies to establish the company’s dedicated patient advocacy function to enhance effectiveness and coordination of outreach.
